MILAN — 12 Feb. 2026 — Around 300 volunteers have been active since January across Italy to support a drug-prevention information drive, distributing prevention eu news 24/7 materials titled “The Truth About Drugs”. According to organisers that over 500,000 copies have already been handed out, starting in Milan and expanding to additional cities.
The European Office of the Church of Scientology is among those supporting the campaign within its broader support for drug education and prevention initiatives inspired by the work of L. Ron Hubbard. The materials aim to provide clear, accessible information about commonly abused substances and their risks.
Organisers also highlight athlete involvement. They say over 100 Milano Cortina 2026-linked athletes have signed the Foundation for a Drug-Free World Honorary Register, supporting drug-prevention awareness for youth. In the organisers’ view, sport helps reinforce healthy choices because it is associated with discipline, recovery and mental focus.
Ivan Arjona, representative of the Church of Scientology to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, stated: “Across Europe, youth safeguarding is both a public-health goal and a civic responsibility. Providing verified, understandable information strengthens autonomy and informed choice, and it helps communities reduce the social space in which criminal networks operate.”
